Competitors took there marks on the beach this morning for the first leg of the tri-sport Coll Challenge. Pegged as the ‘most remote adventure race in the UK’, the challenge includes running 2 miles along the stunning Crossapol beach in Tiree, windsurfing from Crossapol around the coast to Gott Bay and then over to the neighbouring island of Coll, and then charging around the half marathon route around the forest on the island of Coll.
Competitors included Pro fleet windsurfers John Hibbard, Timo Mullen and Scotlands own Alan Jackson, from East Kilbride. Alan came second in the running leg and first in the first leg of the windsurfing. We sit eagerly awaiting the final results…
